We're reading from the section titled "Changing Perceptions of the Environment" (p. 39) to the end of Chapter 1. As you read this chapter, see what you can learn about ecological modernization (and the related concept of market environmentalism) and the environmental justice movement. Then write a blog post that identifies some of the contrasts between these two schools of thought: which social groups are likely to support each of these ideas, what kinds of values or ideologies does each one promote, what kinds of social or economic changes would each one require, and what other contrasts do you see between them?
